1982 Owens Corning Energy Conservation Design Award

Dr. Landsberg has over 31 years experience in energy efficient building technologies, building energy analysis and audits, energy consumption, demand-side management, commissioning, and energy conscious building simulation and design. His building end-use metering applications include DSM impact evaluation, RD&D applications for buildings and alternate fuel vehicles and building energy simulations. Dr. Landsberg has also provided expert witness testimony with regard to performance of energy conservation systems and programs.  Services included development of energy program development, workbooks, training seminars, and demonstration projects for energy efficient technologies.  He has also been called upon to provide custom energy analysis, including projection of the energy use of the 911 Memorial.

Combined Heat and Power. Provides internal review of CHP and district heating and cooling studies. 57 reviews completed to date.  Provided technical support for the development of NYSERDA’s Standard Offer.  Providing preliminary screening of all applications and technical reviews of selected CHP projects for NYSERDA.  Provided CHP analyses for US State Department facilities in 7 countries.

Energy Audit Service. Manager, of program providing energy audits to small commercial buildings in a 32 county region of New York State. About 700 audits have been completed.

Energy Feasibility Studies. Responsible for conducting energy audits including preparation of work scopes, gathering data in the field, energy analysis and report preparation. Studies have included 60 farm audits and numerous industrial audits.  The measures analyzed have included industrial process improvements, anaerobic digestion, wind, photovoltaic, as well as building energy efficiency improvements.

New Construction. Provides energy analysis and LEED services to building owners and their design teams.  Work includes DOE-2/eQUEST modeling to assess and verify energy performance of building design.  Projects completed to date range from a LEED volunteer fire station to a nanotechnology building at a major University.  Provides commissioning services for LEED® and non-LEED® projects.  Has provided commissioning services for over ten new construction projects in the past three years.

Multifamily Building Services. Project manager for over fifty multifamily energy-based projects.  Responsible for field survey, data collection and analysis of energy efficiency opportunities.  Services have been provided to new and existing facilities across New York State.

Commercial Industrial Performance Program. Project manager under the CIPP/ECIPP Programs. Over 300 customer energy conservation and energy services projects completed throughout New York State, ranging from NYC to Buffalo.
