BACKGROUND:
Experienced in performing and directing energy audits and surveys of residential, commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. Skilled in data acquisition systems, monitoring equipment installation, data analysis and end use energy conservation measure analysis. Performed over 1000 energy audit surveys within the past fifteen years. Buildings encompassed all levels of government, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. Maintained data base to track program progress. Trained and supervised energy auditors and field evaluators.
Installation and Maintenance of Remote Data Acquisition Sites. Installed and maintained over 60 remote site data acquisition and instrumentation systems for energy technology demonstrations and evaluations. Technologies have included air and water source heat pumps, advanced water heating systems, active and passive solar systems, earth-coupled heat pumps, large central heating and cooling plants, lighting, motors, variable speed drives and conventional HVAC systems.
Government Facilities. Performed energy audit on a 400,000 square foot Internal Revenue Service Center in New England, energy audits on thirty National Park Service buildings in the New York City area. And energy analysis for twenty foreign embassies. Other work performed for clients such as the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and GSA.
Commercial/Industrial Audits. Performed energy audits on many types of commercial buildings including farms, food processors, office buildings, schools, hospitals, restaurants, light manufacturing, sports facilities, large and small retail facilities, museums and warehouse facilities. Performed energy audits on large industrial and manufacturing facilities including steel manufacturing. Measures analyzed include variable speed drives for motors, high efficiency lighting retrofits, heat recovery from process, high efficiency HVAC systems, demand controls and TOU rates.
Agricultural Energy Audits. Responsible for identifying and analyzing energy conservation measures for dairy farms and grain drying farms. Measures include variable speed drives for pumps, heat recovery from refrigeration, milk pre-coolers, high efficiency refrigeration, heat recovery from refrigeration and long day lighting. Analyzed new heat recovery grain dryers with VSDs.
On-Site Measurements and Equipment Maintenance. Performed on-site measurements and maintenance of monitoring systems for the assessment of a multi-pollutant indoor air quality survey in low-income housing. Measurements included radon, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, and respirable particulates. Responsible for the collection and documentation of data and the calibration of all equipment. Performed on-site data collection and analysis of energy conservation measures using lighting and data loggers at numerous sites as part assessment projects.
