BACKGROUND:
Mr. Berdar has experience in energy consulting, including energy evaluations and reporting of commercial, industrial, institutional and residential energy end-use technologies and facilities. He has participated in program support and evaluation efforts for a wide diversity of end-use technologies in commercial and industrial facilities.
His overall work experience includes program implementation and support for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Existing Facilities Program. His responsibilities include review and assessment of energy savings analyses, measurement and verification plans, field surveys and verifications, equipment metering, and program tracking. Utilizes the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) as the basis for development of M&V plans and approaches. Experience with a myriad of end-use technologies such as lighting, controls, motors, variable speed drives, unitary AC and HP, chillers, etc.
As a field engineer and energy analyst, Mr. Berdar has participated in impact evaluations for HVAC, lighting, lighting controls, motors and VSDs and has been responsible for on-site data collection, metering, and analysis of energy systems.
Completed field evaluations of energy conservation opportunities at commercial, multifamily, municipal and industrial facilities. Evaluated opportunities for energy conservation and end-use improvements of lighting, cooling, heating, conveyance (elevators), building controls, and appliances.
As an Outreach Project Consultant, Mr. Berdar was responsible for the review and processing of customer applications for prescriptive energy efficiency incentives. He also provided technical assistance and review services for the NYSERDA Energy Smart Loan fund program.
Provided technical support and review services for NYSERDA’s Peak Load Reduction Program and Web-enabled Advance Metering Program.
